Police search for suspect in Novi bank robbery

Novi — Police are asking for help in identifying a bearded man who robbed a Flagstar Bank Saturday morning.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at (248) 348-7100 or Crime Stoppers at (800) SPEAKUP.

The suspect entered the bank at 39900 Eight Mile Road about 10 a.m. and approached a teller, according to a press release.

The suspect stated he was making a cash withdrawal before announcing the robbery and ordered the teller to open a cash drawer. He then grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash from the drawer before running from the bank. A weapon was neither seen nor implied.

The suspect is described as African-American, 32-37 years old, about 6-feet, 4-inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a thin beard. He wore a black T-shirt, black basketball style shorts with white sides, an unidentified baseball cap, white socks and white gym shoes.
