Independence Township — A woman found unconscious Friday along the side of the road remains hospitalized and on a ventilator, police confirmed Tuesday.

The woman was identified Monday as 38-year-old Waterford Township resident Lynn Yeider.

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said Monday it received a call from a friend who saw a Facebook posting asking if someone could identify the woman.

“The friend stated she has been calling Stephanie’s cellphone and has not received any calls back,” said Det. Sgt. Richard Cummins of the Oakland County Sheriff’s office in a press release Monday.

“She stated the picture looked just like her.”

Yeider’s friend gave the sheriff’s department an address in Waterford Township off Andersonville near where she was found.

Sheriff’s detectives went to the residence and talked to Yeider’s boyfriend and he identified the woman from the photo provided by the hospital.

“He informed us that she has been gone since Friday and he called all the area hospitals and Oakland County Jail with no luck,” according to the release.

“He also stated he did not call Waterford PD to report her missing.”

Yeider did not appear to be injured nor under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials released her picture Monday, hoping to identify her. She was found just after 6 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Andersonville and Curtis Lane.

Yeider was seen staggering along the side of the road before she collapsed in the street and began vomiting, officials said. She had no identification with her.

She was taken to McLaren Hospital Oakland in Pontiac and housed in the intensive care unit.

Doctors are unsure why she fell unconscious. The hospital, in a statement Tuesday, said the efforts continue.

“We don’t have any verification at all that this patient has any communicable or infectious disease,” Kristina Miller, a spokeswoman for McLaren Oakland wrote. “We’re doing everything clinically possible to rule out various medical conditions, per our patient care protocols. All our efforts are directed at what’s best for the patient.”
