Auburn Hills -- The Pistons almost got out of their first week of training camp without any injury issues.

Almost.

Coach Stan Van Gundy said after Friday morning’s practice that point guard Reggie Jackson suffered a bruise during a scrimmage after colliding with a basket stanchion.

Another point guard, Steve Blake, suffered “concussion-type symptoms” this week and his short-term status is uncertain. Blake didn’t practice Thursday or Friday and may not participate in Saturday’s open practice at The Palace.

“He got hit the other day and came down and hit his head on the floor. He came in yesterday and just didn’t feel right,” Van Gundy said. “The doctor came last night and we kept an eye on him. We didn’t have him come in today.”

Big man Aron Baynes — already limited to one of the two-a-day practices after having a foot procedure in the offseason — landed awkwardly in a scrimmage and turned the same ankle.

Van Gundy said he’s not overly concerned about that injury, though.

“We don’t think it’s really bad, but we don’t know when we’ll have him back,” Van Gundy said.

Without two point guards — in addition to Brandon Jennings, who is rehabbing from his Achilles injury — left the Pistons short-handed in their scrimmage, having to call rookies Stanley Johnson and Darrun Hilliard into duty.

“Stanley was really good today,” Van Gundy said, “even at the point.”
