Mobile, Ala. — The Lions defensive line donated water to Flint residents last week, and now the secondary is offering its help to the embattled city.

Lions safety Glover Quin and some of his fellow defensive backs are donating more than 36,000 bottles of water this week to help provide clean water to Flint, a city in crisis due to lead-contaminated pipes.

Fellow safety Don Carey and cornerbacks Josh Wilson, Nevin Lawson, Quandre Diggs and Alex Carter are assisting with the donation through the United Way of Genesee County.

“It’s so important to make sure these kids and families have clean water,” Quin said in a news release provided by his publicist. “I can’t imagine what they’re going through. We are fortunate to be able to support those that support us throughout the year.”

Last week, defensive linemen Ziggy Ansah, Haloti Ngata, Jason Jones, Gabe Wright and Caraun Reid, as well as running back Joique Bell and Titans defensive lineman Angelo Blackson, donated about 100,000 bottles of water through grocery distributor SpartanNash.
