Howard's mask pays homage to Tigers greats

Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard will honor Detroit Tigers icons on the mask he will wear during the Stadium Series game against the Avalanche next month.

The outdoor game is on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. at Coors Field, a baseball stadium, in Denver.

The mask lists world championship seasons for the Tigers.

Depicted on the mask are images of players Al Kaline, Ty Cobb, Alan Trammell, Kirk Gibson, broadcaster Ernie Harwell and manager Sparky Anderson.

The mask also lists the Tigers' World Series championships and displays retro Tigers logos.

The mask was designed by Ray Bishop of Bishop Designs.
