Four-star Devery Hamilton flips from UM to Stanford
Michigan no longer has four-star offensive tackle Devery Hamilton in the 2016 freshman class.
Hamilton flipped his commitment to Stanford, 247Sports reported Saturday morning, citing Baltimore Gilman School assistant coach Henry Russell.
Hamilton (6-6, 265 pounds) had committed to the Wolverines in June prior to his senior season at Gilman.
During an in-home visit Friday night from Stanford coach David Shaw, Hamilton committed to the Cardinal.
He is rated the No. 10 offensive tackle in the nation by Scout.com and the No. 1 OT in Maryland.
Hamilton said his decision to flip to the Cardinal had nothing to do with anything negative about Michigan.
"I loved Michigan; there's a reason why I committed there in the first place," Hamilton told Greg Biggins of Scout.com. "For me, I wanted to find the best combination of football and academics and that's why I focused on Stanford and Michigan. I loved the coaching staff, the fan support and I was extremely comfortable there.”
Michigan now has 25 commitments with National Signing Day on Wednesday.
