Jim Harbaugh and Mark Dantonio are both primed to bring in the highest rated classes in their respective programs histories. For the latest signing day news, including where some of the top prospects in the state end up, stay with The Detroit News all day.

Complete lists of Michigan and Michigan State signees can be found below updates.

(3:48) 'Bama leads the pack...again

It looks like for the fifth straight year, Nick Saban is going to have the best recruiting class in the country. Michigan has had a strong showing today, including getting the No.1 overall player in defensive tackle Rashan Gary. Here are the updated team rankings, according to Scout.com.

1. Alabama

2. Ohio State

3. Florida State

4. LSU

5. Ole Miss

6. Michigan

7. UCLA

8. Texas

9. Georgia

10. Florida

(3:32) Michigan nets No.4 tight end Asiasi

4-star tight end Devin Asiasi pulled a mini surprise today as he announced that he would add to Jim Harbaugh's already large recruiting class. It was thought Asiasi was leaning towards staying out west, with offers from USC and UCLA thought to be the most likely landing spots. Harbaugh may have found the heir to Jake Butt's throne.

Just after Asiasi's announcement, his high school teammate, Boss Tagaloa, committed to UCLA. Tagaloa was also considering UM, USC, Cal and Washington.

(3:13) Top 10 recruit Brown chooses Auburn, 'Bama moves into top spot in rankings

Derrick Brown, another monster 5-star defensive tackle in an exceptional class of defensive linemen, committed to Auburn on ESPN. That's a big get for a school that's desperately trying to keep up with Nick Saban and Alabama. Brown was also considering Auburn, Tennessee, Alabama and Mississippi State.

Speaking of 'Bama, the Crimson Tide have moved into the top spot of Scout.com's team rankings. They are followed (in order) by Ohio State, Florida State, LSU, Ole Miss, Texas, Michigan, Georgia, UCLA and Florida. Michigan State is still sitting at No. 18, and the only movement we would see out of them today would presumably be down the list, as the Spartans are done for the day and other teams may still gain commitments.

(2:30) Updated team rankings from Scout.com

Michigan and Michigan State have had good days, but according to Scout.com, the Buckeyes are the top team in the conference and the country in terms of recruiting today. The Buckeyes have two 5-star players to go with 17 4-star players. In comparison, UM has two 5-star players and 12 4-stars. MSU has 12 4-star players.

Here's the Top 10 as of this update:

1. Ohio State

2. Alabama

3. Florida State

4. LSU

5. Ole Miss

6. Texas

7. Michigan

8. UCLA

9. Florida

10. Georgia

18. MSU

(1:55) Would-be UM commit hasn't signed on...yet

All the suspected firm Michigan commitments were honored today, but when tallying up the final count, there was one name missing from those who signed their letters of intent to play for Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines: Dytarious Johnson, a 3-star linebacker from Alabama, was unable to sign today because of a transcript issue. He says Harbaugh is sticking with him despite concerns there might not be enough room for him in UM's abundant class. Here's the story from the Montgomery Advertiser: Michigan sticking with Prattville LB Dytarious Johnson

(1:13) Michigan nabs top-ranked player Gary

Rashan Gary is the unanimous number one player in the country according to every major recruiting service. And now, he's heading to Ann Arbor. Gary announced his decision on ESPN with his family by his side. With all the pomp and circumstance surrounding Jim Harbaugh and Co. today, Gary is the biggest news of the day for the Wolverines. He's a 6'4", 286 pound monster. According to all who have studied him, he's a hard-working kid with unlimited upside.

(1:07) It's USC for "Pie" Young

With a crowded class of receivers, Michigan was hoping to add at least one more in the form of Keyshawn "Pie" Young. The 3-star receiver from Miami chose to take his talents to USC.

(12:50) Michigan awaiting word from two high profile recruits

The No.1 recruit in the country, defensive tackle Rashan Gary, is down to Michigan and Clemson. He will announce his decision at 1:10 p.m.

10 minutes earlier, at 1:00 p.m., 3 star wide receiver Keyshawn "Pie" Young will decide between the Wolverines, Louisville and USC.

(12:23) Jim Leyland shows off his moves for Harbaugh and Co.

Former Tigers manager Jim Leyland is in Ann Arbor as part of Michigan's Signing with the Stars event. He joined members of the hip-hop group, Migos, on stage before breaking out his moves and dabbing in front of a delighted crowd. The world as we know it may officially be coming to an end...but at least we can laugh in the meantime.

(12:11) MSU has signed all of its commits...with one exception

With tight end Noah Davis signing up to play for the Spartans, MSU has now signed all of its commitments coming into today, with the exception of Auston Robertson. Mark Dantonio has 12 4-star players under his belt this season, and despite a few setbacks, this is already the most heralded class in the history of the program.

(12:07) Robertson's decommitment to MSU takes a turn

Auston Robertson, the 4-star defensive end and top-ranked prospect in the state of Indiana, announced earlier that while MSU was still at the top of his list he would be re-opening his recruitment. Now, according to 247 sports, Robertson is facing battery charges in his home state.

(11:52 a.m.) 4-star DE Murphy to USC

Connor Murphy had a chance to add to Michigan's already stellar class, but he spurned Harbaugh and Co. and will head for sunnier skies at USC. That's a lot closer to home for Murphy, who's from Arizona, and I'm sure that played a big role in his decision.

(11:38 a.m.) It's Arizona for Cochran

Jalen Cochran, a 3-star linebacker from Canton, chose to go play for former Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez at Arizona. The selling point might have been that Rodriguez told Cochran he could stay at linebacker, while Mark Dantonio reportedly wanted him as a defensive end.

(11:30 a.m.) Big time linebacker is Texas bound

Jeffrey McCulloch, the third-ranked linebacker in the country and 43rd overall player, is going to Texas. That's a big get for Charlie Strong, who is under tremendous pressure to start producing results for the Longhorns. Along with Michigan, Texas is one of those school's that college football needs to be, at the very least, competitive. McCulloch chose Texas over Notre Dame, Florida, Texas A&M and Stanford.

(11:05 a.m.) Rockford kicker Nordin chooses Harbaugh, UM

Jim Harbaugh stayed the night at Quinn Nordin's house in an attempt to keep the Rockford High School product out of Southern California and USC. It was apparently a great sell job, as Nordin just committed to the Wolverines from the comforts of home. That's another big get for Harbaugh. A great kicker can make a huge difference.

(10:45 a.m.) Robertson balking at signing with MSU

Auston Robertson, one of the true prizes of Mark Dantonio's 2016 recruiting class, is apparently reopening his options. No word yet if he will make a decision today, but it appears MSU is still in a good position.

(10:35 a.m.)

This is a shot live from Ann Arbor. Jim Harbaugh and Michigan are making a full-fledged event out of today's festivities.

(10:16 a.m.) Top prospect King sticks with MSU

MSU received one of its biggest letters of the day from Josh King, the top prospect from Illinois. King was always solid to the Spartans, but there had been rumors surrounding his recruitment. He's now signed, sealed and delivered to Mark Dantonio and Co.

(10:13 a.m.) Top linebacker picks 'Bama

Ben Davis, the top-ranked linebacker in the country and Scout.com's 11th overall player, is heading to Alabama to play for the national champions. Davis, who is from Alabama, chose the Crimson Tide over Auburn, Georgia, LSU and Notre Dame.

(9:55 a.m.) Renaissance's Jackson heading to Iowa

Following LaVert Hill's big announcement, Detroit Renaissance offensive tackle Alaric Jackson chose Iowa over Michigan and Michigan State. There had been talk lately of the Wolverines making a late push for Jackson, and the Spartans were said to be falling off after being the early leaders for his services.

(9:41 a.m.) Michigan nabs Hill

4-star Detroit King cornerback LaVert Hill has chosen Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines over MSU and Penn State. Hill was always heavily rumored to be heading to Ann Arbor, but when his teammate Donnie Corley went to MSU, there were whispers he might have a change of heart. As it turns out, Hill will probably get a chance to cover his former teammate at some point over the next four years.

(9:05 a.m.) Spartans lose out on prime targets Sammons, Dioubate

Prince Sammons, a 4-star defensive end from Ohio, has decided to take his talents south to Auburn. Sammons was a big target for MSU, and the first notable loss for coach Mark Dantonio and his staff today.

Also, Karamo Dioubate, a 4-star defensive end from Pennsylvania has eliminated MSU from contention. He's narrowed his choices to South Carolina and Temple.

(8:45 a.m.) Southfield's Falcon officially a Bronco

Matt Falcon was always going to be a Michigan Wolverine, but an ACL injury that ended his 2015 campaign before it even started saw his offer to play football for Jim Harbaugh pulled. Falcon was still offered a medical scholarship to attend UM as a student, but the young man wanted to play football, and WMU's P.J. Fleck welcomed him with open arms.

(8:41 a.m.) Michigan misses out on 5-star Athlete Hardman

Mecole Hardman pulled a fast one. After removing all Georgia signage from his announcement, the 5'11", 176 pound Georgian ran out in full Bulldogs gear to roaring cheers from the local crowd. Hardman was a bit of a long shot to end up at UM, but he did have the Wolverines in his final five with Ohio State and three SEC schools.

(8:09 a.m.) Lathrup's Uwazurike heading to Iowa State

Southfield Lathrup's towering defensive end Eyioma Uwazurike is heading to Iowa State to play for former Toledo coach Matt Campbell.

(7:55 AM) Detroit King star Martell Pettaway heading to WVU

Martell Pettaway, a bruising 3-star running back who helped lead his team to a state championship, is heading down south to play for coach Dana Holgorsen and the Mountaineers.
