Report: Drummond to take part in Slam-Dunk contest
Boston — After earning his first All-Star selection last week, Pistons center Andre Drummond isn’t stopping just at participating in the game.
According to a report by Cleveland.com’s Chris Haynes, Drummond also will participate in the Slam-Dunk contest. Along with Drummond, Minnesota guard Zach Lavine, the defending champion, Denver’s Will Barton and Orlando’s Aaron Gordon also are slated to participate on Feb. 13 at Air Canada Centre, according to the report.
Drummond would become the third Pistons player to participate in the dunk contest, joining Jerry Stackhouse (2000) and Allan Houston (1994).
At 6-foot-10, Drummond likely would be at a disadvantage, as centers generally aren’t judged the same as guards and forwards.
