Ice issue forces delay to start of 3rd of Wings game

The third period of the Red Wings-Islanders game was delayed 30 minutes as crews worked on the ice at Joe Louis Arena. Issues arose after the Zamboni resurfaced the ice.

Crews work on the ice between the second and third period at Joe Louis Arena.

As a result, the teams were to switch sides at the 10-minute mark of the period. The Wings were leading 4-0 on goals by Tomas Jurco, Kyle Quincey, Mike Green and Tomas Tatar.
