Report: Harbaugh might hire father of signee Devin Bush Jr.

Michigan signed three players from Flanagan High in south Florida and may soon add its head football coach -- and father of linebacker signee Devin Bush Jr. -- to its staff.

According to a sourced report in Wednesday's Miami Herald, Flanagan coach Devin Bush, who led his team to a state title last season, will join Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh's staff.

Bush Jr. already has enrolled at Michigan and Flanagan teammates Devin Gil and Josh Metellus, both safeties, signed with the Wolverines in Feb. 3, the first day of the signing period.

Bush, when reached by the Herald, said he has not had current communication with the Wolverines but described to the paper "hearsay" that there may be a position for him with the team in some capacity.

"It's all speculative right now and there's nothing concrete," Flanagan athletic director Al Guzzo told the Herald.

A source told the paper an announcement is expected sometime next week.

Trieu: Stritzinger, Nelson build ties to Michigan

Last week the Hartford Courant reported Erik Campbell, a former Michigan player, assistant and most recently recruiting director, was hired as UConn's receivers coach. That leaves a vacancy on Harbaugh's non-coaching staff.

Devin Bush Sr. was a defensive back at Florida State and was a first-round draft pick of the Atlanta Falcons in 1995. He played for the Falcons, Rams and Browns from 1995-2002.
