Three Spartans land spots in Mayock’s position rankings

Michigan State is well represented in Mike Mayock’s position rankings for the NFL draft, released Wednesday.

Three Spartans appear on the NFL.com draft experts list, which includes his top five players at each position.

Only Ohio State (eight) and Alabama (six) have more. Clemson, Notre Dame and Ole Miss also have three players apiece among the rankings.

Jack Conklin, who skipped his senior season to enter the draft, is the highest-ranked Michigan State player at his position, coming in at No. 3 among offensive tackles. Western Michigan’s Willie Beavers is No. 5 at the position.C

Connor Cook is No. 4 among quarterbacks, trailing top-ranked Carson Wentz of North Dakota State, Jared Goff of California, and Memphis signal caller Paxton Lynch.

Jack Allen ranks fifth among centers, while Michigan’s Graham Glasgow is the No. 5 guard on Mayock’s list.

Michigan State’s Shilique Calhoun and Michigan’s Willie Henry are not among the players Mayock ranked.
