Reggie Jackson out sick for Pistons

Auburn Hills — The Pistons will be a little shorthanded heading into Wednesday’s matchup against the Denver Nuggets at The Palace.

The team announced just before tip-off that starting point guard Reggie Jackson would not play because of illness, joining Ersan Ilyasova (illness), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (core muscle injury), Jodie Meeks (toe fracture), Spencer Dinwiddie (ankle) and Reggie Bullock (broken nose) as scratches for the game.

With nine healthy players — and only four wing players: rookies Stanley Johnson and Darrun Hilliard along with Anthony Tolliver and Marcus Morris — the options are slim for coach Stan Van Gundy.

Wednesday’s matchup is the last game before the All-Star break; the Pistons don’t play again until Feb. 19 at Washington.
