The Lions made another change to their business operations Thursday, announcing the promotion of Emily Griffin to vice president of marketing.

Team president Rod Wood indicated last week an internal promotion could happen soon, though he declined to specify which staffer would move into this marketing role. Wood said there could also be an outside hire for the front office coming soon.

Griffin has worked for the Lions since December 2014 as the digital media and corporate partnership strategist. Now, she’ll work with Kelly Kozole, who was recently promoted to senior vice president of business development, on the team’s marketing campaigns.

The team fired its top two marketing executives two weeks ago.
