The Lions signed another player Friday as new general manager Bob Quinn tries to find contributors among the current free-agent group.

The team announced the signing of offensive tackle Lamar Holmes, a third-round pick by the Atlanta Falcons in 2012.

Holmes has experience playing left and right tackle, and he started 15 games for the Falcons in 2013. Injuries set him back the past two years, though. In 2014, he started four games before suffering a season-ending foot injury.

In 2015, Holmes suffered a broken foot in minicamp and started the season on the physically unable to perform list. The Falcons waived him with an injury settlement in December.

At 6-foot-6, 333 pounds, Holmes has good size for the position. The Lions are looking to upgrade their tackle position after a lackluster season from the group in 2015.
