Michigan edges Michigan State in 11 innings

Ako Thomas singled home the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning Friday night for No. 16 Michigan, which beat Michigan State, 4-3, in a Big Ten baseball game at the Wilpon Complex in Ann Arbor.

The Spartans (28-10, 8-4 Big Ten) had tied the game at 3 in the top of the ninth on a single by Brandon Hughes.

Ryan Nutof got the win in relief for the Wolverines (29-10, 9-3), who are at Michigan State on Saturday.
