Southfield — A donated art piece was installed Wednesday in the roundabout on Evergreen.

The sculpture called “Gratitude” was donated by resident Skip Davis, according to city officials.

“The ‘Gratitude’ sculpture will serve as a unique and aesthetically pleasing landmark that signals motorists’ arrival to the heart of Southfield,” Mayor Kenson Siver said.

The 16-foot high piece, created by Southfield native and internationally know artist Jay Lefkowitz, was refurbished and painted orange to stand out at the city’s municipal campus and the Southfield City Centre.

The City Centre Advisory Board and the Barbara J. Davis Memorial Art Fund provided the money for the refurbishment and relocation of the sculpture.
