The Buckeyes jumped on Michigan starter Ryan Nutof (6-3), scoring five runs on six hits and a walk. Nutof faced only eight batters and got just one out.

Ryan Feltner (3-3) worked 6.1 innings in relief of Adam Niemeyer to earn the win.

Freshman Jonathan Engelmann had two hits for the Wolverines.
