A man working on Memorial Day was shot in broad daylight with a BB gun, Detroit police said Tuesday.
The 54-year-old man was at the 14800 block of West Seven Mile holding up a sign for Cricket Wireless when a light gray Jeep Cherokee, which was headed westbound on Seven Mile, slowed down in front of him at about 12:30 p.m.
The front passenger of the vehicle, who police describe as a black male with a dark complexion, leaned out of the window, pointed his pistol-style BB gun, and fired, striking the victim in the stomach.
A doctor confirmed the man was hit with a BB pellet and not a bullet, said Officer Jennifer Moreno, and the pellet did not lodge itself inside the victim.
