Detroit police are seeking help from the public to find a man they say was involved in a shooting outside a nightclub on the city’s southwest side that injured a 21-year-old.

Investigators said the victim had been in a fight with the other man in the 6600 block of Michigan Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. July 5.

At one point, “the suspect pulled out a firearm and fired several shots at the victim, striking him,” police said in a statement Wednesday.

The 21-year-old’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

To generate tips, authorities this week released pictures of the alleged gunman, who they said “should be considered armed and dangerous.”

He is described as an African-American man, 25-30 years old, with a stocky build.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-5440. Anonymous tips can also be left through Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
