Oakland County Sheriff officials are seeking tips after a Pontiac woman reported she was sexually assaulted by a man who forced his way into her home early Friday.

The 43-year-old victim told deputies she had opened her windows and doors around 6 a.m. at the residence on Starlite Lane but locked the screen door, investigators said in a statement.

Shortly after, the woman said, “a man forced open her screen door and pulled her down to the floor demanding money,” the release read. “When she told him she didn’t have any money, he forcibly sexually assaulted her.”

Grabbing a kitchen knife and forcing her into the bedroom, the attacker told the woman to remain there as he fled the home, according to the notice.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment and physical examination.

Meanwhile, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Science Lab responded to process the scene. A sheriff’s K-9 searched near her residence for the suspect but was unable to find him.

The incident remains under investigation and authorities are seeking tips to find the suspect, who is described to be in his 20s, and 5-foot-2, 120 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, gray hooded sweatshirt and blue pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at (248) 858-4951. Tips can also be submitted through 1-888-TURN-1-IN or 1-800-773-2587.
