Detroit — Police are investigating a multiple-vehicle crash involving a patron shuttle bus from Nemo’s Bar that wound up just outside the door of the Leland Hotel.

The accident took place around 5 p.m. near the Bagley/Cass intersection and resulted in two people being taken to hospitals.

The bus, which ferries Nemo’s customers to and from Comerica Park for Tigers games, was traveling west on Bagley. As it crossed Cass, a blue Nissan pulled in front it, leading to a collision.

The vehicles crashed into the front of the Leland Hotel. An 86-year-old man standing near the entrance was struck by one of the vehicles.

Detroit Police officer Jennifer Moreno said the man was in serious condition at an undisclosed hospital. The female driver of the Nissan was also taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries.

It was unclear how many people were on the bus at the time of the accident. Moreno said no other injuries were reported.

Two other vehicles at the scene — a Kia and a Ford Focus — appeared to have sustained major damage as well.
