Reports differ on outlook for Lions' Abdullah

Green Bay, Wis. – Conflicting reporters came out Sunday on the long-term status of Detroit Lions running back Ameer Abdullah.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting Abdullah suffered a torn ligament in his foot and is expected to miss the remainder of the season following surgery. Ian Rapoport, of the NFL Network, offered a more optimistic prognosis, indicating the team remains optimistic Abdullah will be able to return after the Lions’ Week 10 bye.

Schefter also reported that Detroit defensive end Ziggy Ansah is expected to miss at least one more week with a high ankle sprain. The defensive end is reportedly scheduled for a second opinion on the injured ankle next week.

Ansah did not play Sunday in Green Bay.
