Lions bring back receiver Aaron Dobson
The Detroit Lions re-signed wide receiver Aaron Dobson on Tuesday, filling the team's open roster spot.
After initially signing with the Lions last week, Dobson had to be released Saturday to clear room for Zaviar Gooden, an emergency linebacker depth addition who played 27 snaps in the loss to the Green Bay Packers.
A second-round draft pick in 2013, Dobson spent his first three seasons with the New England Patriots. In 24 games he caught 53 passes for 698 yards and four touchdowns.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder has had durability issues during his young career, missing time with a hamstring injury in 2014 and a high ankle sprain last season. He was part of the Patriots' final roster cuts this offseason after catching nine passes for 147 yards during the preseason.
Gooden, who was waived Monday, re-signed to Detroit's practice squad.
