Red Wings rout Bruins 5-1 to go 2-0 in preseason

Steve Ott and Luke Glendening each had a goal and two assists as the Red Wings defeated the Bruins, 5-1, Wednesday in Boston to go 2-0 in the preseason.

Kyle Criscuolo (power play), Anthony Mantha and Drew Miller also scored for the Wings, who led 4-0 midway through the second period. Austin Cznarnik had the Bruins' lone goal.

BOX SCORE: Red Wings 5, Bruins 1

Jared Coreau stopped 35 of 36 shots in the Wings' goal. Detroit outshot Boston, 42-36.

The Wings hosts the Bruins Friday in an exhibition game at Joe Louis Arena. Faceoff is 7:30 p.m.
