Detroit News predictions: Michigan vs. Wisconsin

The Detroit News' Angelique S. Chengelis, Matt Charboneau, John Niyo and Bob Wojnowski predict the outcome of Saturday's Michigan-Wisconsin game.

Angelique S. Chengelis: Wisconsin arrives in Ann Arbor on a high after scoring an upset just up the road. Defensive coaches had the luxury of studying film of Wisconsin redshirt freshman QB Alex Hornibrook, who is playing behind a solid line but faces a healthier Michigan defensive line. Michigan 24-13

Matt Charboneau: Wisconsin is surely riding high after the win last week at Michigan State, but the offense should find things a bit more difficult against Michigan. The Badgers took advantage of four Spartans turnovers, and barring a similar performance from the Wolverines, finding points might be tough against a Michigan defense ranked No. 1 in the Big Ten. Michigan 34-17

John Niyo: Michigan’s front seven is just getting started. And while Wisconsin’s a much more physical test — don’t expect another 300-plus rushing yards, for one thing — Alex Hornibrook is going to feel much less comfortable. Michigan 31-14

Bob Wojnowski: Finally a legitimate test for the Wolverines, and they’re not likely to top 40 points a fifth straight week. They are likely to dial up pressure on Badgers redshirt freshman QB Alex Hornibrook. Wilton Speight won’t have to win this for the Wolverines — Jabrill Peppers and Don Brown’s defense will.
