A 25-year-old Pontiac man is expected to recover after being shot in the chest when a dice game he was partaking in was robbed Friday morning, police said.

The shooting took place about 1:04 a.m. on the 200 block of Fisher. The man who was shot had invited three other men into the home, where a dice game was being held, according to a statement from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

After entering the home, one of the three men, who is unknown to the victim, produced a handgun and demanded the players hand over all their money. He shot the 25-year-old man in the chest.

When police arrived, they found the man shot, unconscious and lying on a living room couch. Star EMS paramedics stabilized the man at the house, then transported him to a local hospital. The victim is expected to survive his wounds, though was in critical condition at last report and still unable to speak.

Detectives are still investigating.
