Police seek 2 suspects in fatal west-side shooting
Police are on the lookout for at least two hoodie-wearing men suspected in the shooting death of a 26-year-old man on Detroit’s west side on Sunday morning.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner identified the man Tuesday afternoon as Seafred Darnell Robinson III. Robinson’s cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds, and his manner of death was homicide.
Police say the man and a friend were sitting inside a 2004 black Chevy Trailblazer about 1:25 a.m. on the 16600 block of Tuller when the two men, both wearing red hoodies, approached on foot and asked why they were on the block, which is south of McNichols and west of Livernois.
The men said they had family there. At that point, police say one of the men allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired shots, striking the victim. By the time police arrived, they found him lying in the street. The second victim was able to run away unscathed, despite being shot at, said Officer Dan Donakowski, a spokesman for the Detroit Police Department.
Police are looking for two men. The first, who is suspected of shooting the victim, is described as a black male, about 30, 6 feet, 2 inches tall, 170 pounds, of light complexion and with a mustache. That night he wore a red Fubu hoodie, light blue jeans and tan boots.
The second suspect is described as a black male, about 25, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 135 pounds, with a medium complexion, with dreadlocks, a goatee and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a red hoodie, tan cargo pants and black boots.
