Good cranberry cider

Fall is cider season and a Texas company has put a twist on cider by eschewing apples and focusing on cranberries as the base. The Hot Ruby involves citrus juices and spices, including cinnamon and cloves. Created by the late Ruby Faye in the 1950’s, the beverage is made to be served warm and has the tones of a nonalcoholic mulled wine. It’s also good over ice or as a mixer. Good eggs

Michigan Meijer stores are now carrying two kinds of certified humane egg brands on the shelves. Pete & Gerry’s Organic Eggs and Nellie’s Free Range Eggs are produced through a network of small family farms, adhering to guidelines that ensure the humane treatment of hens. Pete and Gerry’s is $5.99 per dozen and $3.99 for the Nellie’s eggs.

Yummy Halloween treats
