A $2,500 reward is offered for tips to help solve the shooting death of a man in Detroit last weekend, Crime Stoppers of Michigan announced Wednesday.

The victim, identified Wednesday as Edward Morris, was shot during an attempted robbery at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday while sitting in his gray 2016 Nissan Altima on the 20000 block of Wexford.

Detroit police have said a man with a gun wearing a black varsity-type jacket with leather sleeves approached the car and demanded Morris’ belongings.

A witness told investigators the suspect fired a single shot when the man took too long to comply.

The witness drove Morris to Detroit Receiving Hospital, where he died.
