Crime Stoppers has dramatically increased the reward for information about the slaying of a man found shot in his vehicle after it crashed into cars on Dearborn’s west side.

The organization is offering up to $13,000 for tips leading to an arrest in the death of Canton Township resident Raymond Mshahwar, 33, who was found unresponsive by police around 10 p.m. Oct. 16 in his silver GMC Envoy at Madison and Bennett.

The reward has grown from $2,500 offered Monday at a Crime Stoppers and Dearborn police news conference. Mshahwar’s family also was planning on adding an additional $2,500, officials said at the time.

Officials on Monday also introduced a timeline leading to the victim’s death, specifically asking for tips about his final hour.

Mshahwar was last seen around 9 p.m. Oct. 16 at Vision Lanes bowling alley in Westland, Cmdr. David Robinson said Monday. It is unknown if he left alone.

Police do not know where he went or what he did in the hour before he was found by police.

In a news release Thursday, Crime Stoppers said tipsters will remain anonymous. Calls are routed to a Canadian call center with no caller ID installed, officials said.

“You will not be at risk. If you contact Crime Stoppers, you will be absolutely safe because you will be completely and utterly anonymous,” officials said. “No one — not us, not the police — will know your identity. There will never be any need for you to testify in court, because no one will ever know who you are.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the Dearborn Police Department tip line at 313-943-3030. Anonymous tips also may be submitted to Crime Stoppers of Michigan by calling 1 (800) SPEAK-UP or texting CSM to CRIMES (274637).
