Inkster police: 3 arrested in fake credit card scheme

Three people were arrested Thursday after Inkster police responded to reports of gunshots and discovered a credit card machine they say was used to stamp out fraudulent Visa cards in a house in which one of the suspects fled.

Authorities say they discovered several bullet casings in the street at Wellington and Florence about 5 p.m., and learned that one vehicle in question had fled westbound and another vehicle, an older white Chevrolet, was possibly near Henry and Beech.

Police say they found the Chevy, but it was unoccupied with its back window shot out.

They followed a tip that the driver fled on foot with a rifle and handguns and ran into a backyard on the 3000 block of Henry, according to police.

Officers discovered the suspect in a house, arrested him and seized two handguns, a rifle, narcotics and the credit card machine. Police say they also seized fake driver’s licenses and several items purchased at local stores with the fake credit cards.

Two other people were arrested in connection with the fake credit card scheme.
