Possible abduction probed at Detroit’s Mumford High

The Detroit News

Detroit police are investigating a possible abduction reported Monday night at Mumford High School.

During an after-school event at the campus near Wyoming on the city’s west side, “a female was seen screaming and being put into a dark-colored Jeep” around 7 p.m., said Officer Shanelle Williams, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.

The female is not a student at the high school, Williams said.

Investigators did not release additional details late Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department at (313) 596-1616.
