Good Stuff: A funky pan, pasta sauce and protein bars

One handy pan

Now why didn’t I think of this? The MasterPan has compartments built in so the home chef can cook six different foods at once. The middle chamber receives higher heat and is commonly used to cook proteins and the outer chambers are right for vegetables, eggs and more. Made from cast aluminum, the literature says it’s oven safe up to 350 degrees. Cost ranges between around $60 and $70. Available at Wal-Mart, Bed Bath and Beyond, Target and online at Amazon.com.

One good

pasta sauce

Bertolli has come out with two new organic offerings in world of pasta sauce: Fire-Roasted Garlic Marinara and Five Cheese with Romano, Parmesan and Asiago. They’re out now and available at major retailers. Cost is about $3.50 for a 24-ounce glass jar.

Good protein bars

Premier Protein has come out with a new line of bars with 30 grams of protein but sans artificial sweeteners, flavors and colors. The bars are available in several flavors including Chocolate Peanut Butter, Yogurt Peanut Crunch and Salted Caramel. They have 270-290 calories per bar. Available at major big box outlets including Costco, Sam’s Club and Wal-Mart. Cost is about $2 per bar.
