Crews work in the area of the sinkhole behind a sewer by-pass line on Dec. 29, 2016. Fifteen Mile between Utica  and Hayes is closed as construction and utility crews rebuild a sanitary sewer line. A giant sinkhole developed beneath a house on the southeast corner of 15 Mile and Eberlein on Christmas Eve day, causing the house to partially buckle. Several area residents were evacuated as the mayor of Fraser placed the area under a state of emergency, allowing the city to apply for special funding.
