Ex-Lions player arrested naked for third time

Woodburn, Ore. — Police say they arrested a former Detroit Lions player after he tried to force his way into an Oregon home and then took his clothes off.

Police went to the Woodburn home on Saturday after being told someone was making alarming statements.

The homeowner told authorities that former Lions cornerback Stanley Wilson II was acting erratically and tried to get into the house.

Arriving officers say Wilson emerged from a backyard shed and was naked. He was taken to Marion County Jail.

Police spokesman Jason Horton says he didn’t know if Wilson had a lawyer. No lawyer was included on his jail listing and the prosecutor’s office was closed Sunday.

Wilson played for the Lions from 2005-07 after being drafted in the third round (72nd overall) in the 2005 NFL draft out of Stanford.

In June 2016, Wilson suffered non-life threatening injuries after being shot by a homeowner while trying to break into a Portland home while naked, according to news reports at the time.

In that incident, deputies found Wilson in a water fountain in the homeowner's backyard. He was taken into custody, then rushed to a nearby hospital.

In January, Wilson was arrested in when he was found naked outside a residence in Portland.

Wilson's father, Stanley Wilson Sr., also played in the NFL for the Bengals. He became notorious after he missed Super Bowl XXIII and was found in a hotel bathroom with cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
