Lions bolster DT rotation, sign Jordan Hill

The Detroit Lions beefed up their defensive tackle rotation on Monday, signing free agent Jordan Hill.

A third-round pick out of Penn State in 2013, the 6-foot-1, 291-pound Hill has spent most his career with the Seattle Seahawks, where he appeared in 27 games over three seasons. He most recently played with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Hill’s best season came in 2014, when as a backup for the defending Super Bowl champion, he recorded 5.5 sacks, batted down four passes and came down with an interception.

Hill joins a relatively thin group at defensive tackle. Haloti Ngata and A’Shawn Robinson are the projected starters in 2017, with free-agent addition Akeem Spence and Khyri Thornton in rotational roles.
