Is it a social-media sensation, urban myth or something for Pistons fans and coach Stan Van Gundy to salivate over?

According to reports, Pistons forward Stanley Johnson scored 86 points on Friday night in the championship game of the OVO Bounce pro-am tournament in Toronto. That included 16 points in the last 20 seconds of regulation and overtime, according to a tweet by ballislife.com.

After a promising rookie year, Stanley Johnson averaged just 4.4 points last year with the Pistons.

Last season, Johnson scored the game-winner in the title game at the OVO tournament, sponsored by rap star Drake.

This looks to be an emphatic encore.

The reports spread quickly on Twitter, including from former Pistons guard Brandon Jennings, who posted: “Stanley Johnson 86 pts tonight,” on Twitter.

A video posted on Twitter by Slam Online shows Johnson making a three-point play, with the caption that it’s the 80th point for Johnson.

It’s an encouraging step for Johnson, 21, who is in line to compete the starting spot at small forward, after Marcus Morris was traded to the Boston Celtics for Avery Bradley last month.
