SATURDAY
6 p.m.: Chevrolet introduces the all-new 2019 Silverado, its first redesign since competitor Ford F-150 went aluminum. You can see Silverado pictures at detroitnews.com.
6:30 p.m. The Gallery of ultra-luxury automobiles, displayed at Cobo, brings nearly $10 million in outrageous automobiles on display at the first party of the North American International Auto Show.
SUNDAY
12:30 p.m.: AutoMobili-D, the second annual exposition on the emerging aspects of autos and high-technology, begins at Cobo.
1:30 p.m.: Elaine Chao, secretary of the Department of Transportation, promises President Donald Trump's administration will take a "tech-neutral and flexible" approach to regulating self-driving cars as it prepares to roll out new voluntary guidelines for hands-free driving.
4:30 p.m. Ford unveils the new Ford Ranger, a midsized pickup being reintroduced to compete as a new model after it was discontinued in 2011.
Ford also rolls out a new 475-horsepower Mustang Bullitt in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Steve McQueen film of the same name Sunday at the Detroit auto show.
8 p.m. Volkswagen introduces the new Jetta, the compact sedan that's among the world's best-selling cars. It has a longer wheelbase and wider platform than its predecessor.
8 p.m. Mercedes unveils the AMG CLS53 hybrid sedan, the two-door AMG E53 Coupe and Cabriolet, and an updated G-Class ute.
MONDAY
7:55 a.m.: The North American Car, Utility and Truck of the Year Awards are announced from the three finalists in each category. Winners: Honda Accord, Volvo XC60, Lincoln Navigator.
9:05 a.m. Fiat Chrysler unveils the new Ram 1500 and with that, the pickup wars among the Detroit Three can begin. Top brass at Fiat Chrysler say the all-new technology-loaded 2019 Ram 1500 is one of the most crucial vehicles the company’s ever launched.
10:35 a.m.: Nissan shows a big three-row concept vehicle, the X-Motion. Visually, the Xmotion shown incorporates some familiar Nissan design cues, such as the brand’s “boomerang” headlamps and V-motion grille, though it grows wider and adds a more three-dimensional element.
12:05 p.m.: Hyundai premieres the next-generation Veloster, with a meaner look and a hot-rod companion. The Korean automaker also unveiled its first-ever Veloster N high performance model, boasting 275 horsepower and 760 pounds-feet of torque.
1:05 p.m.: Toyota rolls out an all-new Avalon sedan. After a 32 percent sales dive in 2017, Toyota is hoping to jump-start sales of its flagship mid-size sedan in a ute-obsessed market.
1:30 p.m.: Chinese automaker Guangzhou Automobile Group takes the wraps off an electric concept called the Enverge and a sedan called the GA4. GAC Motors plans to enter the U.S. auto market in 2019.
7 p.m.: The U.S. gets its first look at the 641-horsepower Lamborghini Urus SUV. It's the high-end sports car maker's first foray into the crowded U.S. sport utility market.
TUESDAY
8 a.m. Jeep Cherokee debuts a second-generation remake of its popular midsized SUV.
