Spartans can't nab 4-star WR

Michigan State was holding its breath as 4-star wide receiver Tommy Bush announced his school of choice on ESPN2. Unfortunately for Mark Dantonio and Co., it was another coup of Georgia, who won out over MSU, Texas, Ole Miss and Baylor.

Bush would have been a huge get for the Spartans, but alas, Georgia, Alabama and Ohio State continue to dominate the college football landscape. Bush was pegged as a top-10 wide receiver in the country by some recruiting services, though 247sports had him as the 37th-ranked wideout in the country.

Texas wide receiver Tommy Bush, a Michigan State target, picked Georgia on Wednesday.

Bell makes it official, may be last of UM signees

3-star wide receiver Ronnie Bell has made his commitment to Michigan official. He's the third recruit to sign with Michigan today, bringing the size of the 2018 class to 19. Barring a surprise, this will probably be Michigan's last recruit to sign with this class. Bell caught 159 passes for 2,476 yards 31 touchdowns during his career at Park Hill High School in Missouri.

MSU adds some local flavor with under-the-radar recruit

Daniel VanOpstall wasn't a high-regarded prospect, but that's exactly the mold of guy that Mark Dantonio has had such success with over the last decade. An offensive tackle that stands at 6-foot-6, 255 pounds VanOpstall signed with the Spartans today out of Jenison High School on the west side of the state.

Michigan gets second letter of the day

Michael Barrett is the second 3-star player to sign with the Wolverines today, joining Vincent Gray from Rochester Adams. So far, they're the only two players to sign up to play with Jim Harbaugh today. Barring a surprise commitment later in the day, the only player Michigan is waiting on right now is wide receiver Ronnie Bell from Kansas City, Missouri.

Spartans lose out on 3-star DE

Michigan State suffered a loss of its own this morning, as 3-star defensive end Habakkuk Baldonado chose to follow former Spartans defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi to Pittsburgh, choosing the Panthers over MSU.

Four-star linebacker Otis Reese has flipped from Michigan to Georgia.

Reese flips to Georgia

Four-star linebacker Otis Reese had been committed to Michigan since August of 2016, but when he decided not to sign in December, there were whispers that he may stay home and go to Georgia. Well, that all came to fruition when Reese made his announcement that he was indeed signing with the Bulldogs. That's a second big blow to the Wolverines this morning. Reese was widely-regarded as the top player in Michigan's 2018 class, which is now ranked 18th in the country.

Nation's top OT picks OSU

Nick Petit-Frere, the top offensive tackle and seventh-ranked prospect in the country, picked Ohio State over Michigan, Alabama and Florida. It's another blow to the Wolverines, who seem to be finding themselves falling well behind the recruiting powerhouse that is Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes.

Top player on the board signs with Crimson Tide

The top cornerback in the country has signed with Alabama. Patrick Surtain Jr., ranked the sixth-best prospect in the country by 247sports.com, was the top-ranked prospect left unsigned entering today.

Rochester Adams DB signs with Michigan

Three-star defensive back Vincent Gray of Rochester Adams made his commitment to play in Ann Arbor. Gray, at 6-2, 180 pounds, was a late add to Michigan's recruiting class when he pulled an offer from the Wolverines in January. He's the 21st member of Jim Harbaugh's 2018 class. Gray also had offers from Wisconsin, Oregon, Missouri and a number of other Power 5 schools.
