This story has been updated to reflect the new opening date of March 22.

Asaysia Plates to Share, a new “wine and dine” restaurant, plans to open in downtown Detroit next week. Two more restaurant concepts are set to launch within the 16,500-square-foot space at 1452 Brush in the near future.

Asaysia is a 5,000-square-foot restaurant opening March 22 near Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts and Harmonie Park.

Fare will include thin-crust pizza and other shareable dishes like charcuterie, oysters, “jerk-style sticky wings,” macaroni and cheese and more from executive chef Larry Middlebrooks, formerly an executive chef at Hyatt Regency Hotels. Main items are priced $12-$28, with salads and other vegetarian dishes $10-$16 and pizzas in the $12 range.

The restaurant seats 150, and includes an intimate, reservations-only chef’s table.

Along with Middlebrooks, the team will include sommelier Filippo Morandi.

According to a press release issued Wednesday, the restaurant is owned by Matt Palmer, who will also act as general manager. It aims to highlight “the history and style of Detroit in a casual, polished and relaxed atmosphere.”

“Between our carefully crafted menu and unique Detroit-made decor, Asaysia Plates to Share is a true celebration of the Motor City,” said Palmer in the release. “To us, Asaysia means good food, good times and good friends, and we knew Detroit was the perfect place to share that. We’re excited to bring this authentic dining experience to Detroit and share it with locals and visitors alike.”

Besides Asaysia Plates, the complex is expected to feature a high-end, fine-dining restaurantlater this spring, and a sports-bar-and-more style restaurant is planed for the near future.
