Pie & Mash pop-up at Zingerman’s Cornman Farms: Get a pie meal for one for $19 or for 4 for $70; dine in or carry out. Sunday’s feature is burgundy beef pie stuffed with wine-soaked beef, onion and garlic inside a crispy pastry crust, served with mashed potatoes, minted peas and salted black licorice caramel. Kiesling gets ready: Kiesling Detroit is a historic bar in the Milwaukee Junction neighborhood that’s been renovated and is preparing to open soon as a cocktail bar at 449 E. Milwaukee in Detroit.

Food Trucks Downtown: Downtown Street Eats, the Downtown Detroit Partnership’s program that brings food trucks downtown, will swing back into gear Friday. The kick-off event features 10 food trucks at Cadillac Square and surrounding area, plus Beacon Park. Visit downtowndetroitparks.com for information.

Egg recipe contest: Eggland’s Best eggsellers are searching for the country’s best original egg recipe. The egg-sperts looking for original recipes that show off the cook’s hometown pride using local ingredients or local delicacies (and eggs).
