Pittsburgh — Rain can be a pain.

So, too, can cold, and snow, and all the other elements Mother Nature has tossed at the Tigers in 2018.

The Tigers had their seventh game in the regular season’s first month postponed when Tuesday night’s duel against the Pirates at PNC Park was called after more than a 90-minute delay and an all-day rain in Pittsburgh.

The game will be made up Wednesday as part of an old-fashioned, back-to-back doubleheader. The first game will be played at 4:05 p.m., while the second will follow 30 minutes after the first contest has wrapped up.

The pitching matchups will remain unchanged: Jordan Zimmermann vs. Chad Kuhl in the opener, with Matthew Boyd and Jameson Taillon tangling in the evening game.
