When hot dog café Loaded Links opens this summer in Troy, visitors of the fast-casual concept can try hot dogs with gourmet toppings like tempura avocado and truffle mayo and franks made with Kobe and Wagyu beef.

The 1,500-square-foot restaurant is expected to open in a few months at 800 E. Big Beaver in Troy, just west of Rochester Road. Owner Randy Ayyar wants to offer the quintessential American food without any of the additives that hot dogs are sometimes associated with.

“Our all-natural, 100 percent all-beef hot dogs have no added hormones or steroids and are antibiotic free,” he said in a press release. “Each frank is topped with daring ingredients that will give your taste buds a kick.”

Besides the unusual toppings, Ayyar will offer franks made with Wagyu and Kobe beef, bacon-wrapped dogs and other items like deep-fried Oreos, crushed ice and burgers. One menu item, the Porky, is a char-grilled beef dog topped with pulled pork, bacon aioli, tomatoes and green onion.

Menu prices haven’t been finalized yet, but a hot dog, side and a soft drink will run $9-$13.
