The Detroit News

Francisco Liriano was chasing his second career no-hitter Sunday. Until the seventh inning.

The Tigers starter no-hit the Mariners through six innings Sunday, taking a 2-0 lead into the seventh, before Mitch Haninger singled with one out in the seventh.

The left-handed Liriano twirled a no-hitter in May 2011 against the Chicago White Sox, as a member of the Minnesota Twins.

Through six innings Sunday, Liriano had walked two and struck out three. He was backed by John Hicks’ two-run home run in the first inning.
