Pistons coach Dwane Casey looks to have his coaching staff in place.

Along with lead assistant Sidney Lowe and the previous hires of Sean Sweeney as an assistant and D.J. Bakker as director of player development, the Pistons are poised to add Micah Nori as an assistant coach, according to a report by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Nori had been an assistant coach with the Denver Nuggets, under coach Mike Malone. Nori also served as a scout with the Toronto Raptors for two seasons, while Casey was the head coach and Pistons senior adviser Ed Stefanski was in the front office.

Nori was with the Raptors for 15 seasons and worked with Malone in Sacramento and in Denver. His wife, Melissa, formerly was on the Pistons’ dance squad, but he said she was fired after they started dating because she was in a relationship with an NBA coach.

The Pistons also are filling some key roles in other areas, taking a piece from the Golden State Warriors. Anthony Slater of The Athletic reported Thursday that the Pistons have hired Sammy Gelfand to add to their analytics staff.

As they rebuild their front office, the Pistons were looking to add an assistant general manager with a focus on analytics, but it appears that Gelfand will not assume that role; they’re still targeting another candidate for that position.
