Ex-Lions QB Dan Orlovsky joins ESPN as college football analyst

Former Detroit Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky has been hired by ESPN as a college football game and studio analyst.

Orlovsky, 34, retired from the NFL after the 2016 season. He was with the Lions from 2005-08 and again from 2014-16.

Orlovsky will work with Clay Matvick and Paul Carcaterra on Friday night and Saturday games on ESPN and ESPN2 this season.

Orlovsky was drafted by the Lions in the fifth round in 2005 out of Connecticut.

He also played for Houston, Indianapolis and Tampa Bay in the NFL and finished his career with 26 games, 298-of-512 passing for 3,132 yards and 15 TD, with 13 interceptions.
