Mario Impemba's mother, Rose, died Tuesday at age 89.

Mario Impemba will miss the first two Tigers games after the All-Star break, following the death of his mother, Rose, on Tuesday at the age of 89.

Matt Shepard will fill in on the Fox Sports Detroit telecasts for the Friday and Saturday games against the Boston Red Sox at Comerica Park. Shepard will do play-by-play, while Kirk Gibson will be doing the analysis.

Impemba will return to the booth Sunday.

Rose Impemba lived in Clinton Township, and had three grandchildren, including Mario's kids, Brett and Daniel. Rose and husband Dominic were married for 67 years.

Visitation is set for 3-9 p.m. Thursday, with a rosary at 7, at Wujek-Calcaterra & Sons, 36900 Schoenherr Road, in Sterling Heights. Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
