A 32-year-old man riding a motorcycle was hit by a wrong-way driver Thursday morning on Detroit's east side, police said.

The crash took place at 4:25 a.m. on the Interstate 75 Service Drive at Holbrook, said Officer Dan Donakowski, a Detroit Police Department spokesman, when a 2007 Buick Rendezvous, which was driving the wrong way, hit the motorcycle.

A 28-year-old woman drove the Rendezvous, and told police that the directions from a GPS app had her turned around.

A private ambulance service transported the victim to the hospital, where he is in critical condition and is suffering from "multiple fractures."

Police are investigating the crash.
