Body found in burning car in St. Clair Co.

Police are investigating the death of a person whose body was found inside a burning vehicle in St. Clair County, officials said.

Authorities have not yet identified the person and have not determined the cause of death, they said.

The body and vehicle were found in the 12000 block of Speaker Road near Jorden Road in Brockway Township, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office.

A person called 911 at about 10 a.m. to report a vehicle on fire in a driveway, police said.

Firefighters arrived on the scene, put out the fire and found a body inside the vehicle, officials said. Firefighters then called sheriff's deputies.
