Long-awaited "progressive dining" restaurant Albena is now accepting reservations.

A project of celebrated chef Garrett Lipar — he was twice named a semifinalists for the James Beard Award for Rising Star Chef of the Year — Albena has only eight seats and is booked with pre-paid reservations.

Described as a 90-minute "progressive expression of dinner," the meals cost $130 per person and can be reserved in groups up to four. Reservations are made at albenadetroit.com.

The 14-story Wurlitzer Building is now The Siren Hotel.

Lipar's Albena is the latest restaurant to debut inside the renovated Siren Hotel, 1509 Broadway in Detroit in the Wurlitzer Building.

The Candy Bar, a bubble gum pink craft cocktail lounge, which is also very small, opened in the spring. Coming soon is Karl's, an 85-seat, all-day restaurant that is being billed as a "not-so-greasy spoon" will be run by chef Kate Williams of Lady of the House. A karaoke piano lounge and a rooftop bar are also being worked on.
